thought id dust off the forums a bit and see what ppls favorite story lines are in a game they have played?
for me, the best story line ever implemented in a game has to be Mafia. Gameplay overall was like your typical narrated 3rd person, free-to-roam kind of game, set back in the 1930's or there abouts. you could drive or walk your way through a nicely generated town scape or country, fighting or shooting whatever takes your fancy if u get bored with your missions. everynow and then there would be cut scenes during gameplay to give you a bit more of the story line that you where playing out. a well thought out storyline from start to finish, leaves you with an ending you dont expect. worth playing the game just for the story line. if they are ever to create another movie based on a game, it should be this! closely copied as possible -------------------- Frag the weak..
..hurdle the dead. |

As cliche as it sounds best storyline i've played through and still am would have to be the half-life series, the fact theres plenty of mods that extend on it is good and the storyline is the best i've come across
fallout 3 was pretty good as well |

IMO, worms 2, each time you finished a level, it would give you a code, using it would allow you to jump straight to that level, but the code also generated a story when all put together, a very entertaining story

Nuff said, well said
If you could be bothered playing the whole game bioshock had a freakin great twist where everything just hit you like a sack of lead bricks (falling ones). "Would you kindly?" Genius. Dues Ex had a very engaging story which kept you playing, exactly the type i like -------------------- ![]() ![]() --------------------- My horse wears a suit, your argument is invalid. |

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series. Deep, atmospheric, quite a few twists in the 'expansions' and it's still growing due to mods.

Max Payne, both games in the series have compelling storylines and are utterly brilliant to play
