ok, having had it for a few months now, i guess i should post up the specs of my new rig.
i7 860, 4gb ram, ATI 5770 vid card, 640gb WD black hdd (sata3), powered by a corsair HX-850 and kept together in a Coolermaster CM-690 case. all that stuff is pretty standard fare, but the Pièce de résistance is my 9.54tb RAID5 array. -------------------- The SCGi forums: where every thread is guaranteed to go off topic, or your money back |

didya end up gettin the perc workin in the end? good news if ya did
don't forget your tape backup library (or is that just scgi that does the backups for ya  )we're talkin cloud computing backup here now

yeah, got it all working a treat now, took a while, and i nearly broke both of my computers in the process, but all up and running now. its good to have all my data in 1 place for the first time in several years. tape backup is a consideration, but with raid 5 and a cold spare in the cupboard, i not sure i gonna need to worry about it for a while
